Tucked into a quiet cove, The Goose sits on two lots totaling 1.6 acres of partially wooded, flat land. The large yard provides a grassy area for all kinds of outdoor games and activities and the woods running along the edges of the lot provide ample privacy. PLUS, plenty of room to park your boat! The Goose has two boat docks and conveniently, a boat access point is right up the road from the house.
The Goose is located in a lovely cove off the main lake. The calm waters in the cove are perfect for trying out the provided kayaks and paddle boards or for just floating beside the dock. The water averages 4-5 ft deep making it perfect for little ones wanting to play in the water. For the more adventurous, the kayaks will each hold two fishing poles along with tackle, and a few short paddle strokes puts you into main lake with expansive views of the surrounding area.
There are 3 bedrooms (1 King, 2 Queen) and a set of Twin bunk beds in the basement. There are 2 full baths and 2 half baths.
The Goose is in Macon, NC, a small town with friendly people. Looking for a night out? The Pointe restaurant located near Eaton Ferry Bridge often hosts live music, great food, and a variety of drinks. Dock your boat at different restaurants around the lake for a quick night out. In the morning, head over the bridge to the Lake Gaston Coffee Company for a cup and then to Jenny Cakes at the Lake for pastries. Or, stock up at the grocery store before heading to the house and use the grill outside or the chef's grade gas range in the kitchen.
There is a grocery store about twenty minutes from the house, so you may want to shop before you arrive.
In the coat closet, you will find a foldable high chair that straps to a dining chair. It comes with a small tray. Instructions for use are located in a mesh pocket on the back of the chair. Please make sure to clean thoroughly after each use. Also in that closet is one safety baby gate that can be used to keep small children from climbing the stairs.
