Summary: We waited for our “ok to check in text” which came at 4pm promptly! We drove to the unit and quickly realized it was much more than “steps to beach!” The unit itself looked like it hadn’t been used since Christmas….since their were still decorations up! The porches we in disarray with the tables being absolutely filthy! The unit needs a complete renovation…it is stuck in the 80s! I really felt like I was at my grandmothers house….complete with pictures of grandchildren throughout! I love my grandma…but it wasn’t the vibe we were hoping for! The appliances are in disarray…and could use a replacement! Layer of dust throughout the unit! Bedding was fine and towels left were suffice! Outdoor pool was closed for the week….went to go to indoor pool…need a code to access it! Requested 3 times from our host….no response until I reached out to VRBO and they got host to communicate! Host stated they saw my messages but couldn’t get the code…..but how was I supposed to know! Anyway finally on day 3 we were able to use the pool! When asked for reimbursement (which VRBO rep said we were entitled to) I heard crickets once again from the host! The walk to the beach is about 7 minutes…can be a haul on way back from beach with all the beach gear and climbing the hill in the heat! Trust me when I say you can get better places for your money in Myrtle Beach…..I’m sure there are great host as well that will communicate efficiently!
